Camp San Gabriel, Mintal, Tugbok District, Davao City – In line with its Reserve Manpower Development Program, the 11th Regional Community Defense Group (11RCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army officially commenced the Basic Citizen Military Training (BCMT) Class 01-2026 on 29 July 2026 at Headquarters, 11RCDG, Camp San Gabriel, Mintal, Tugbok District, Davao City.
The opening ceremony was graced by Colonel Romeo N Bautista III, GSC (INF), PA, the Assistant Division Commander for Reserve Force Development of the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division, Philippine Army, who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.
The BCMT Class 01-2026 is composed of 120 aspiring civilian volunteers from Davao City and other provinces across the Davao Region. Over the next 45 days, the trainees will undergo intensive instruction in basic military knowledge, customs and traditions, military protocols, and essential soldiering skills. The program also aims to instill discipline, patriotism, volunteerism, and a deep sense of civic responsibility, preparing them to become capable, committed, and dependable members of the Army Reserve Force.
In his message, Colonel Bautista commended the participants for their courage, patriotism, and willingness to answer the call of national service. He emphasized that the BCMT is more than just military training-it is a transformative journey that molds ordinary citizens into disciplined and mission-ready reservists who stand prepared to defend the nation whenever called upon.
“Do not settle for simply graduating; strive to uphold honor, patriotism, and duty as you serve our country,” Colonel Bautista encouraged the trainees.
Through initiatives such as the BCMT, the 11RCDG continues to strengthen the Army Reserve Force by developing competent citizen-soldiers who are ready to contribute to national security, disaster response, and community development.
